FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can you provide sound equipment?
Yes we are able to come with our own PA system if required.
Do you have a set list that we can view?
Yes we do! Feel free to ask us for it and we can email it to you.
Can you perform without using a sound system (P.A)?
No, unfortunately it is not loud enough to be heard over the guests. The guitar and box drum will also drown out most vocals.
We won’t have access to power, is that okay?
Yes there are a couple of options available if you won't have access to power. We will need some information about your event to let you know which option(s) will be most suitable. Keep in mind that there are time constrictions of around 2 hours when using batteries and smaller generators.
We want you for our wedding ceremony and reception. Have you performed at weddings before?
A wedding is a unique event. You only get one chance to get things right. We have played at over 100 weddings now and have had every situation possible thrown at us. Having a wedding experienced duo is crucial to having your music run smoothly. It’s not just any old event. Where necessary, a lot of time goes into planning the music with you beforehand to make sure it goes exactly how you want.
Do we need to choose the songs you play?
Unless it’s for a wedding ceremony then no, you don’t need to choose them. Intuitively, we are very confident in choosing the right song for each moment. Alternatively, you are welcome to ask us to send you our set list and choose songs for us to play or even not play.
How are experienced are you?
Sydney Acoustic Duo are highly accomplished and seasoned musicians who have performed at over 450 hundred events including over 250 weddings. All of the other duos on our website are all accomplished and experienced performers who meet Sydney Acoustic Duos exceptionally high standards and almost all of them also have a Bachelor in Music.
How far will you travel for a gig?
Duos on our website are based all over Sydney but also travel to perform at plenty of events outside of Sydney and even Interstate. Providing that accommodation, flights and extra costs are taken care of, most of our duos can perform all over Australia.
Can I request any songs?
Yes you can! It's quite common with weddings and private functions that you may want to request a song or more depending on the duo. As long as at least one months notice is given, then just let us know what the request is and in almost all cases we can learn them for you.
Do we need to provide lunch/dinner?
For bookings 3 hours or longer in duration, we request that food and drinks (non alcoholic) be provided for our duos as it can be difficult to take a long enough break to go and buy food somewhere.
Can we plug an iPod into your system?
Yes! During our breaks we usually plug in an iPod to play music and it's also quite common at weddings and parties that we are given iPods to plug in with custom playlists. We also have professional DJ's available for after we have finished performing. Please contact us for more ingformation.
Can we use your microphone for announcements?
Of course, as long as we aren't singing at the same time :) If you require a wireless microphone they incur an extra hire charge and must be requested beforehand.
Can you have a meeting with us to discuss the gig for our event?
In most cases a phone or Skype conversation covers everything we need to know. If there are very specific run times like there are in weddings then it's very important that we have a run sheet that shows exactly when we need to be playing. If you would still rather have a meeting with us face to face then we try our best to fit it in with our schedules as long as you have confirmed your booking with a paid deposit and it is at a location near us.
